Great Place to thank the organizers for inviting me. I know I don't have the mic. So, yes, I lived a long time. And archeologists by profession are also musician. And the organizers asked me to talk a bit about the history of the site. So how do we know about this place here? The indigenous name is chill. It's the old name of this place. And it's the same word in the hope, the meaning and in the center, and languages. So when you say to people, no, you're referring to this place? And how do we know that this place is three different ways. We know from history, from the words that native people are the words of settlers who recorded what they saw or said. And we know from archaeology, and we know from oral traditions, and we have a lot information from those three different sources about this very place. And you know, Ganges has changed a lot over the years, the original topography new, the parking lot in front of the bank and all that was gone. And we're corporate Ganges road goes from the gas station and the loess is a spit with just a sandspit. It's been filled on both sides, Centennial Park is all fill, the sides will fill. But it's a giant archaeological site. And people that lived here, they've done some work here, people have lived here for at least 2000 years, probably 5000 years, this is a nice place to live. And just so you know, there's a lot of burials here. They're still in the ground, especially between the gas station and the stores here like literally right under the road. And they've been found all over this place. Because when people have lived in a place for 5000 years, they leave behind lots of evidence of good lives. And that's something to remember. precisely that of course, is the burial place. The people lived here up until 1860. And then we don't really know what happened they just got driven off really by settlers. Originally the town of Ganges here I believe is gazetted as a reserve that's what it looks like when you look at the old ramps and maps never happened so anyway, if you ever want to know more details you can talk to me later yo yo
