1858 – Birth of Willis Otis Stark, December 13, in the USA³

1860 – Sylvia & Louis settle on Salt Spring Island²

1860 - Birth of John Edmond Stark, September or November 26, on Salt Spring³ ⁶ ⁷

1863 - Birth of Abraham Lincoln Stark, February 19, on Salt Spring ³ ⁶

1865 or 66 – Birth of Hannah Serena Stark, February 16, on Salt Spring¹ ⁶

1867 or 69 – Birth of Marie Albertina Stark, August 15, on Salt Spring. ¹ ³ ⁶

1874 or 75– Sylvia & Louis move to Cedar, Nanaimo from ‘Fruitville’/ Fruitvale on Salt Spring. ¹⁵ ¹⁶

1878 or 79 – Birth of Louise Stark in Cedar, Nanaimo.³ ⁶

1878 – Marriage of Emma to James Clarke ², in Victoria on Dec. 27 ⁶

Census 1881: Sylvia (age 44) living in Nanaimo with Louis (age 55) and 4 Children:  Han S (15), Maria A (13), Louisa (2), & Abraham L (18)
-Sylvia (age 38) and Abraham (18) also listed on Salt Spring – noted Aug 17^th by enumerator Henry Fry
-William [Willis?] Starke (age 22) living in Nanaimo, apart from the rest of the family, Farmer, born USA.

1886 – Marriage of Serena ‘Sarina’ to Vencent (?)  Jenoni, watchmaker, born in Italy ⁹

1888 – Death of Serena, January 18⁶

1890 – Death of Emma ,  age 33 ² ⁶

Census 1891: Sylvia (48) living on Salt Spring with son Willis Otis (33) and Howard Estes, widower, (79).
- Louis (age 75, Farmer) & Louisa (age 12) living in Nanaimo –Cranberry Cedar District
- Marie “Mary” A. (age 22, Domestic) on Salt Spring lodging with J & Elizabeth Booth
- Abraham (age 28, Farmer, unemployed) in Nanaimo City, North Ward, lodger in house of John Coulson, able to read and write.

1895 - Death of Louis – February 26th, aged 79 – Cranberry District⁵

1897 – Marriage of Maria to Joseph B Wallace, May 20 ⁴ ⁹

1898: Supreme Court case brought by Louis Stark’s executor in 1898 against defendant E. Priest (BC Archives)

*1900 – Death of Abraham L. Stark, age 37 ¹¹ - [also see 1908]

Census 1901: -Sylvia (age 59, b. Jan 16, 1842) living on Salt Spring with sons Willis (age 42, b. Dec. 13, 1858), John Edmond (age 40, b. Nov. 26, 1860) and Abraham L. (age 38, b. Feb. 19, 1863, ‘Unsound Mind’).
- Louise Stark in Nanaimo, a live-in domestic, (age 22, b. June 29, 1878)
- Marie Wallace (age 31, b. Aug 15, 1869) with JB Wallace (age 33), Janitor, Ethel (age 3), Oscar (age 0) living in Vancouver, Burrard District.

1901 – Marriage of Louisa to Ernest May, Sept ⁹

*1908 – Death of Abraham Stark, from tuberculosis on Salt Spring¹⁴ [also see 1900]
