Soul catcher used by the shaman when person got sick. The shamen believed people had five souls and when ill, they had lost one. They would pretend they are paddling, they would find a soul, they would put it in this hollow device and they would return to the sick person, lay it on the sick person’s chest and blow on it to make the person well, they would now have their soul back.

Shaman’s tools
rattle on left. The black stone is the healing stone. Shaman believed it had healing power and would massage the sick person’s back with this stone.

Fire starter. Dry leaves were put in the bottom and then they would have a spindle to twirl around, spinning until the leaves make a fire.

Native copper decoration, note the fish carved in centre and sun on outer edge. This is native copper, it is made by pounding the copper out of raw stone. You can tell the native copper as opposed to white man copper because the native copper still has the green copper stain in it.
