Omadan and wife

Omadan and wife

Omadan and wife were Japanese nationals, employed on the Ruckle farm between 1875 and 1900. It was common practice for Japanese nationals to be brought from Japan to work on farms for a period of time. The arrangements were made through an organization out of Victoria. The Japanese were anxious to save their wages to take back to Japan with them, to enhance their lifestyle in their homeland
