172Bittancourt Store, Wharf and Dowry or Dower Houses (c1907) (Norah Nixon)
Vesuvius Bay. Store opened in the 1870s by Estalon J Bittancourt to serve steamer run between Victoria and Nanaimo. In the 30s, the building became Vesuvius Lodge, which was destroyed by fire in 1975
