Charles Kahn, an editor and writer, has lived on Salt Spring for almost twenty years. When he arrived on the island, he brought expertise in history from his work editing and writing social studies textbooks. Charles has written several local history books, including Cusheon Cove, Salt Spring Island; Mouat's: The First Hundred Years; Lady Minto Gulf Islands Hospital, Salt Spring Island: A History; and Salt Spring: the Story of an Island. During his research for these books, he interviewed many oldtimers, and several of these interviews are on tapes, which Charles donated to the Archives. Charles currently helps staff the Archives by completing a shift on most Monday afternoons.
